Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you for your prayers as we continue our pilgrim journey from Taiwan to Texas. We praise the Lord for His protection and care for us (and our vehicle) over many thousands of miles of travel since we last communicated with you. At times, while cruising cross-country at freeway speed, surrounded by nothing but open road, open sky, and open countryside, our trusty Honda CR-V begins to feel like an oversized hamster wheel; we begin to wonder if all our motion and activity is bringing us any closer to our goal or if we are merely traveling in circles. In these times we encourage ourselves with God’s promise that our labors (and travels) in the work of the Lord are not in vain (1 Cor. 15:58).
But today, with thanksgiving, we can report measurable progress that brings us tangibly closer to our destination. Since April, we have seen an additional increase of nine percent in pledged support; this brings us to a current support level of 78.9%. Please continue to pray for additional churches and individuals to join with us in partnership in the gospel.
We completed our trip out West by traveling from California to South Carolina in 7 days. Our stay in South Carolina was brief—only 10 days—and filled with nearly a dozen different medical, dental, and vehicle appointments that were squeezed into that brief span. Then we repacked our suitcases and our vehicle and traveled for another 2 days to Michigan.
We are thankful that after three-and-a-half months of continual travel, we can put down our tent stakes for several months in Michigan. Calvary Baptist Church of Midland has again blessed us by providing a mission home for our use. Over the next few months, we will be traveling to speak in churches in Michigan and the Midwest, but we will have a home to return to between times.
Our stop in Columbia, South Carolina was with our daughter, Beth. In our last letter we requested prayer for her survey trip to a Restricted Access Nation. Thank you for praying! She was blessed to observe and participate in the ministry there as she considered how God might be directing her future path. God used this experience in her heart and life to show her areas in which she can better prepare for possible future ministry. Pray for her as she begins to implement changes in her life toward this goal.
Please pray as we continue to contact pastors and churches in pursuit of opportunities to present our ministry. Pray as we begin to plan the next stage of our itinerary starting in early October. Our travel itinerary for June and July is posted on the back of this letter; please pray for our travel and our ministry in the churches. Please continue to pray with us that we will achieve full support by the end of this calendar year. Our goal is to make the move to Katy in early 2026.
