Dear Prayer Partners,
After two months on the road, we have good things to report. Please rejoice with us over the progress that God has enabled us to make toward our goal and continue to pray with us concerning various ongoing needs of our ministry.
We left South Carolina on February 4th and travelled to Katy, Texas, where we spent two weekends at Good News Baptist Church. We enjoyed good fellowship with the congregation and held productive discussions with our teammates, Gerald and Julie Hawk, about future ministry.
From there we travelled to Arizona, where we spent more than a month in meetings. We presented our ministry in five different churches. During this period, we also welcomed two new churches to our support team, One Life Bible Church of Taylor, Arizona, and Gospel Fellowship Baptist Church of Abbotsford, British Columbia. As the chart indicates, we now stand at about 70% percent of our support need. This represents a ten percent increase in pledged support since our last letter. It is still our hope that we will be able to gain full support and make the move to Katy by the end of this calendar year. Please pray to this end.
We left the Phoenix area on April 4th to travel onward to Southern California. We reported to a supporting church there (First Baptist Church of Walteria) before driving up to Northern California, where we will be based for the remainder of our time in Matt’s home state. We will be speaking in two additional supporting churches during our stay to report on our transition of ministry. Afterward, we plan to return to South Carolina briefly to repack our suitcases and take care of health appointments before the next stage of our journey.
During this time, our daughter, Beth, made a visit to a mission hospital in a Creative Access Nation. She is seriously considering the possibility of returning there for long-term medical/gospel ministry in the future. Please pray for God’s guidance and provision in her life.
In May we plan to move to Michigan for five months of meetings with churches in Michigan and the Midwest. We will be staying in missionary housing provided by one of our supporting churches (Calvary Baptist Church of Midland, Michigan). Please pray as we connect with pastors and churches to continue developing our itinerary of meetings.
